I finally finished. I made my very own leg warmer pattern. Granted, it is not very original, but I designed it myself. This is also the first pattern that I’ve ever written up, so feel free to provide feedback on the pattern. Note, while this pattern is pretty easy, it’s probably more for people with experience reading and interpreting patterns, since I’m not experienced at writing patterns.
Materials:
Size 4.5 mm hook
2 skeins of Knitting Fever Painted Mist (Misty Rainbow) (546 yards)
Pattern:
(Make 2)
Chain 44 (adjusted base chain length based on the measurement of your calves, make sure your chain count is even). Slip stitch to starting chain.
Round 1: SC in each chain around (44)
Round 2: Chain 2 , DC in each sc around, join with slip stitch to top of beginning chain 2 (44).
Round 3: Chain 2, BPDC on first DC, [FPDC on next DC, BPDC on next DC] continue around, join with slip stitch to top of beginning chain 2 (44).

Back Post Double Crochet (BPDC)

Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC)
Rounds 4 – 7: Chain 2, BPDC on first BPDC, [FPDC on next FPDC, BPDC on next BPDC] continue around, join with slip stitch to top of beginning chain 2 (44).
Round 8: HDC in each stitch around, mark first HDC (44).
Continue HDC in the round till you are close to the desired length, or are close to the end of the skein (I used one skein per legwarmer).
Round End – 6: Chain 2 , DC in each stitch around, use stitch marker from round 8 to estimate where in the round to start the DC. SL to top of top of beginning chain 2 (44).
Round End – 5: Chain 2, BPDC on first DC, [FPDC on next DC, BPDC on next DC] continue around, join with slip stitch to top of beginning chain 2 (44).
Rounds End – 4 – End – 1: Chain 2, BPDC on first BPDC, [FPDC on next FPDC, BPDC on next BPDC] continue around, join with slip stitch to top of beginning chain 2 (44).
Last round: SC in each stitch around (44). Tie off.
That’s it. Just a simple HDC with some ribbing. An, I hope this makes sense, and again, I welcome feedback on the pattern.
And now that my legwarmers are done, it’s time to start my New Year’s Resolution. Here goes, wish me luck.
